David Pillow has sent along a summary of this year's SPIT meeting, including the photo below. In order to keep this a family-friendly site, I have strategically scrambled part of the image; let's just say the kid was giving the old "We're No. 1" sign. Writes David:

We had a good time in San Antonio in April. The schedule worked out nice. As one SPITter noted, the time allotted for each talk was far more generous than what is apportioned at SPSP, thereby allowing for plenty of questions, give and take, and the humor of Rody Miller.

Bill Ickes took home the SPIT spirit award for a well done SPIT-spirited talk on rudeness, and for just being Bill. The picture is a must see...

Next year's site remains undetermined.

A detailed schedule for the upcoming 2011 SPIT meeting has been released, as shown below (you may click on the document to enlarge it).

The 2011 SPIT meeting will be held in San Antonio, April 8-9, concurrent with the Southwestern Psychological Association convention. (The usual January timing for SPIT didn't work out this year, as a big national event, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology meeting, was held January 27-29, also in San Antonio.) According to a recent e-mail from SPIT organizers:

Meetings will be held at the UTSA downtown campus. Joining UTSA in putting SPIT together this year is Our Lady of the Lake University and Trinity University. We've been developing a really nice agenda of talks represented by old and new spitters/spittoons. Representing some of the founding fathers of SPIT, Bill Ickes and Paul Paulus have agreed to talk. At the other end of the spectrum, we'll have talks by newbees at Texas A&M and Texas A&M at Corpus Christi. There are still a few slots remaining. So please let us (David Pillow and Rebecca Weston) know soon if you have an interest in presenting your work.

Professors Pillow and Weston can also answer questions about lodging and other logistical matters.
